Universal Swanging , Wiring, Jennying and Closing Machines
Universal swaging machine is designed for various operations such
as swaging, wiring, flanging, jennying, necking or jogging and closing.
Arranged for bench or floor mounting. Hand operated or motorized. The
bottom spindle is adjustable in the horizontal plane, giving perfect
alignment, with a lock to retain the adjustment. Pressure on the rolls
is obtained by a hand wheel and screw on the top spindle. Each roll is
recessed on the outside face, so that the nuts on the spindle with
suitable speed reduction Gears, mounted on stand provided with
motorization attachment.
Deep throat swaging and closing machines for large size of drums and buckets
This machine is ideal for swaging medium size of drums and all sizes of common household water buckets.
Back geared, built either for hand or motor drive, fitted with
adjustable guage for swaging and another for jeeny work. Arranged for
bench or floor mounting. All parts sufficiently standardized for general
purpose in sheet metal work.
Distance of centres of spindles and diameters of rollers can be
varied on order to suit any set work, shape or form of the body.
Jenny or Burrying machines
Hand operated Jenny or Burrying machines are designed for edging
flanging or burying the edges of all classes of tin plate work of any
shape, generally used for edging and flanging bottom and bodies to
various angels –previous to panning or setting down, double seaming etc.
provided with an adjustable guage, a set of rolls and mounting bench.
These machines are useful for curling and wiring of cylindrical
bodies and plane sheets, for flanging bodies, blanks and bottoms and for
seaming of elbows, bottoms and the like. Cutting operations can be
performed, if the machine is provided with cutters. Due to its manifold
application this machine has become indispensable for plumbing shops.
Working examples
Using the flanging rolls B supplied with the machine there can be
provided rounded with flanges without folds only up to 3 mm height
providing curls at bodies for wiring is performed as illustrated
beneath.
For closing the curl for wiring closing rolls Z are used, refer to
illustrations 5 and 6, after a corresponding ring of wire has been
inserted in the curl and attached at several points.
For wiring plane sheets or strips the mode of operation is similar
to that illustrated by Fig. 3 to 6. If it should be necessary to close
the curl perfectly around the wire special closing rolls S are required,
the normal closing rolls Z not being suitable for this propose.
